NATIONAL CAN HELLAS (NCH) was established in the daybreak of the new millennium, in September 1999. It is located in the wider area of Salonica, in Methoni (Prefecture of Pieria). NATIONAL CAN HELLAS produces tin cans in which various products can be packed such as fruit, vegetables, various foodstuffs, pet food and more. In the quality control laboratory NATIONAL CAN HELLAS carefully examines and analyses all the primary and secondary raw materials as well as the finished goods, with the most modern and sophisticated Q.C. equipment and in accordance with the strictest quality standards. From the very beginning the plant was equipped with highly sophisticated and efficient manufacturing equipment for the production of food cans. Its production is the outstanding result of the combination of highly sophisticated and fully automatic equipment for cutting, forming, testing and packing.
Role in the project:
On its standard production lines, it will lacquer E 2.8 and D5.6 tinplate sheets with the new lacquers and will make them into welded cans and ends, following the indications relating to coating weight and to curing times and temperatures supplied by SALCHI and SCHEKOLIN.
· Athanassios I. Savvakis is the General Manager at NATIONAL CAN HELLAS. He has been active in the food packaging industry since 1995. He is responsible for the development and the implementation of the company’s commercial strategy on a local level (that is the Greek market) as well as on an international level. He has been a member of the board of directors of the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece (FING) since 2005.
